BEST SOLUTION FOR YOUR MISSING TOOTH IS DENTAL IMPLANT
In the situation of a missing tooth or teeth we have a range of treatment options to replace them. It is important to replace a missing tooth at the earliest to prevent the adjacent and opposing teeth from drifting into the empty space created by the missing teeth.
FIXED REPLACEMENT :
This can be achieved in two ways:
The chewing efficiency in case of Implants is upto 95% of that of natural teeth. The x-ray images demonstrate how dental implants are rooted to the jawbone.
REMOVABLE REPLACEMENT (FOR PARTIALLY MISSING TEETH THAT IS SOME TEETH PRESENT IN THE MOUTH)
In certain situations it may not be possible to give fixed replacement, in such cases a removable denture is the only option. At Dr. Grover Dental Clinic we give our patients the options of having a cast partial denture which has precision fitting cast metal frame work on which the teeth are fixed or the newer flexible denture the Valplast dentures. Click on to tab of “Cast Partial Dentures” of our Website:www.drgroverdentalclinic.comto see more detail . We completely discourage the use of the plain acrylic dentures for partially missing teeth.
REMOVABLE COMPLETE DENTURES
When there are no teeth present in the mouth a complete denture is made to provide the patient with an appliance to chew the food and to have a good appearance. These complete dentures may be supported by using attachments on root canal treated teeth or by using dental implants. Such dentures are called Overdentures . Click on to tab of “Dentures” of our Website: www.drgroverdentalclinic.com to see more detail . Various attachments like ball-n-socket attachments, magnetic attachments, etc could be used to provide tight fitting dentures.
WHAT BEST DENTAL IMPLANTS CAN DO?
ADVANTAGES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS OVER DENTURES OR A BRIDGE
Every way you look at it, Dental Implants are a better solution to the problem of missing teeth. Esthetic : Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth ! Since dental implants integrate into the structure of your bone, they prevent the bone loss and gum recession that often accompany bridgework and dentures. No one will ever know that you have a replacement tooth. Tooth-saving : Dental implants don’t sacrifice the quality of your adjacent teeth like a bridge does because neighboring teeth are not altered to support the implant. More of your own teeth are left untouched, a significant long-term benefit to your oral health! Comfort : Dental Implants will allow you to once again speak and eat with comfort and confidence ! They’ll allow you to say goodbye to worries about displaced dentures and messy denture adhesives. Reliable : The success rate of dental implants is highly predictable. They are considered an excellent option for tooth replacement.
ARE YOU A CANDIDATE FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS ?
The ideal candidate for a dental implant is in good general and oral health. Adequate bone in your jaw is needed to support the implant, and the best candidates have healthy gum tissues that are free of periodontal disease. Dental Implants are indicated as a treatment option for: Replacing a Single Tooth: If you are missing a single tooth, one implant and a crown can replace it. A dental implant replaces both the lost natural tooth and its root. Replacing Several Teeth: If you are missing several teeth, implant-supported bridges can replace them. Dental implants will replace both your lost natural teeth and some of the roots. Replacing All of Your Teeth: If all your teeth are missing, an implant-supported full bridge or full denture can replace them. Dental implants will replace both your lost natural teeth and some of the roots. IMPLANTS

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE FOR FIXING IMPLANTS?
First the patients Dental Digital OPG (full mouth X-ray) and CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) is done, the height and width of the jawbone is measured and accordingly the type of implant ( screw ) to be used is selected. A small hole is drilled on the gums & the jaw bone in place of missing tooth. The Implant is then put into that hole such as it is snuggly fitting. The Implant is inserted to that height that the head of it is up to the Gum level. This is left inside for approx 2-4 months to allow bone deposition surrounding the implant and thus causing complete adhesion of implant inside. After the waiting period is over, connecting post that is abutment, is put on top & the Ceramic (porcelain) cap is fitted onto it. This cap can now be used as a natural tooth. 1)Two dental implants used in tooth replacement2)A single dental implant replaces the missing tooth
THE CONDITIONS NOT INDICATED FOR IMPLANTS ?
But not an absolute contraindication for Dental Implants 1)Medically compromised patients 2) Blood sugar (Diabetes) to high or too low 3) Chronic Tobacco chewer & chronic smoker 4) Any other oral condition not suitable for any surgical procedures 5) Insufficient space available for placement of artifical cap ( crown ) 6) Improper Occlusion (Biting Position)
BENEFITS OF IMPLANTS?
Advantages of Implants over removable denture is that
- The removable loose denture cannot be fitted on the jaw bone & made fixed.
- The Advantage of Implants over Fixed Caps (Crowns) is that we do not have to do cutting of healthy adjacent 2 teeth on either side of empty space.
- Best Advantage is that we can directly fix the Implant in the jaw bone that is in the same place of missing tooth. Means we get a tooth in, from where we lost the tooth & that too a fixed tooth.
EASY MAINTAINANCE AFTER TREATMENT ?
As you know, your own teeth require conscientious at-home oral care and regular dental visits. Dental implants are like your own teeth and will require the same care. In order to keep your implant clean and plaque-free, regular brushing and flossing are only a minimum requirement !!After your treatment, periodic follow-up visits will be scheduled to monitor your implant, teeth and gums by Dr. Grover to make sure they are healthy.
